Most Common Weight Gain Reasons

If you are gaining weight unintentionally, there are a number of potential issues. Some of the weight gain reasons can be as simple as lack of sleep, a new medication, too much stress, being too cold, or not drinking enough water. You might be eating unintentional calories, for example going for an oil and vinegar salad dressing instead of a regular cream based dressing can save several hundred calories. Some diseases can cause sudden weight gain, such as hypothyroidism or Cushing’s syndrome. If you recently stopped smoking, you can expect an average weight gain of six to seven pounds. In the twenty first century, you might also be gaining weight because of spending more time on the computer at home instead of out and about. Something important to keep in mind is that if your weight gain cannot be explained by any of the more obvious reasons, it is important to get a consultation with a doctor.
